I know that the global warming nuts had to change their nomenclature from global warming to climate change on account of it not actually getting warmer. But this has just got to be the greatest global warming headline ever.
As Watts Up with That reports:
They really have lost the plot, haven’t they?
After a few hours, probably responding to people calling up the newsroom and laughing uncontrollably, some editor changed the headline to read “Melting Arctic causes snowier winters in Europe, the US “.

I believe this was the premise of the movie "The Day After Tomorrow," which was described by one climate scientist as being about as accurate a depiction of climate change as "Frankenstein" was of transplant surgery!

It is good to remember that most of the thousands of scientists who signed on to the Global Warming nonsense are no more qualified to assess such things than any of us. Would you ask a plumber to repair your brakes?
It is all but inconceivable, though, that so many have been suckered into believing this stuff. Credulity is a factor, but more, I think, is ego–the desire to be glorified in history for having led the charge on the movement to save the planet.

Why do most Catholic bloggers always seem to hold that Global Warming is a myth? Notwithstanding the article is perfectly clear as to why this change in weather systems should be the case (influx of fresh water from melted ice reduces surface salinity of sea water, salinity being a key feature in the transmission of heat via the gulf stream – all of which are well understood physical phenomena). Is it an unwritten law of Catholic blogging to deny climate science (even when our Pope has advised we modify our relationship tot he natural world)

Anon, one reason is that when subjected to close scrutiny, most of the "evidence" for GW simply does not prove the premise. The relation between CO2 and temperature, for example, appears quite real, but the CO2 graph lags the temperature graph, which makes quite plain that IF there is a causal relation, it is in the direction of temperature rise causing CO2 rise, not the reverse.
There is more, of course, but suffice it to say that the presented "science" won't bear the light of day.

I don't completely buy into every little aspect of the global warming thing, But I have to say the science of this statement does actually make sense. You are allowed to be Catholic and believe in global warming, you're just not allowed to believe that it's a bigger issue than abortion.
