You can’t spell “America” with O-B-A-M-A. Well you could but who’d want to, right? At least Obama wouldn’t.

I don’t think we’ve ever seen a politician as self obsessed as Obama -and that’s saying something. IN talking about American exceptionalism, Obama pretty much says that the country is exceptional because he’s soooooo exceptional and he’s from here, unless you ask Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

James Taranto reports:

President Obama defended his record on ‘American exceptionalism’ on Monday, saying that his entire career has been a testimony to that core belief,” the Hill reports:

“It’s worth noting that I first arrived on the national stage with a speech at the Democratic convention that was entirely about American exceptionalism and that my entire career has been a testimony to American exceptionalism,” Obama said at a press conference alongside Mexican president Felipe Calderón and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

It’s not exactly that this is false; there are ways in which Obama’s career reflects American exceptionalism. Perhaps one could even argue that his tendency toward self-aggrandizement reflects an extreme form of American individualism.

But really, doesn’t he have an aide who can tell him that the symbol of America is not the bald ego?

This little ego trip just reminds me of two incidents.

You might remember that little-commented on murder of Trayvon Martin. President Obama weighed in on it. Why? Why was it so important? Because if he had a son he would’ve looked like Trayvon. That’s why.

The other incident was when Michelle Obama said she was never proud of this country until Obama became the nominee.

Remember, you can only measure awesomeness in Obamas because Obamas are the only applicable unit of measurement of awesomeness.
