Georgetown University has taken sides against the Catholic Church, there is no other way to interpret it.
While the US Catholic Bishops are pulling out all the stops trying to repeal the anti-Catholic and anti-Constitutional HHS Mandate requiring Catholic institutions provide free access to contraception, abortofacients, and sterilization, Georgetown University has chosen the author of the horrible mandate as this year’s commencement speaker for Georgetown University Public Policy Institute.
There is no other way to interpret this other than as a direct challenge to the authority of th Catholic Bishops and as clear statement as to which side the University is on in this crucial standoff.
This afternoon, Georgetown announced the speakers for each school’s commencement address. Here is the list:
David Simon, creator of the critically acclaimed television dramas “The Wire” and “Treme” will be speaking to the College.Dr. Mark Green, senior director of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition and former ambassador to Tanzania is the speaker for the School of Nursing & Health.
Ela R. Bhatt, founder of the Self-Employed Women’s Association, the largest union in India, and a consultant for UNICEF, will address the School of Foreign Service.
Tim O’Shaughnessy (B ’04), CEO and co-founder of LivingSocial will be speaking to the McDonough School of Business.
The speaker for the senior convocation is Helen O’Really (F ’03), current judicial clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
List of speakers for other Georgetown schools:
…
Former governor of Kansas and current secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius, will be addressing the Georgetown Public Policy Institute.
This is an outrage and a direct challenge to the Bishops. Cardinal Wuerl, Cardinal Dolan,and the whole USCCB needs to immediately revoke Georgetown’s status as a Catholic University.
In this crucial debate, you are either with us or against us. Georgetown has taken the other side. If there was any question left about whether Georgetown was still Catholic, that question has now been answered.
Update: You can sign a petition sponsored by The Cardinal Newman Society at the website GeorgetownScandal.com.

And as usual NOTHING will be done. But let a priest refuse Holy Communion to a practicing Buddist active lesbian and he will be suspended ASAP. But the Jesuits continue their heretical and scandalous practices and the silence from Cardinal Wuerl is deafening. But this is hardly the end. Just wait until the Alfred E. Smith dinner before the presidential election. Obama will be invited, even though he is persecuting the Church, and the cardinals (including Dolan)will be falling all over themselves praising him. Just wait.

Georgetown has apparently become satan's territory. At least they don't have a Saint's name plastered on the school. Let's see if those on charge of our Church will let this happen. If anything, I believe Kathleen Sebelius should have been excommunicated a long time ago. POPE BENEDICT, PLEASE HELP THE UNITED STATES CHURCH. The lambs need you!

The Notre Dame 85 might make an appearance. I heard the Notre Dame 85 won the last round in court, especially since the public institution of Georgetown belongs to all the people, all the time, on the Catholic Church's dime and on the taxpayers' dime.

Someone commented on this at another site, saying that the Jesuits don't really run Georgetown — it is now totally run by its board of directors. This person (who went by initials, don't know if it is a man or a woman but will guess man) said that he knew all about Georgetown, had gone there, and had kept in touch with it for years, and that the BOD and president make all the decisions. University governance is complicated, and if this information is correct people ought to know. You can't fix something it you don't know what is actually going on.

To the Jesuit community at Georgetown: Leave the Catholic Church. Form your own sect and define a new path for yourselves. Your institution has become an embarassment for those of us who try to adhere to Church teachings. You could very well start a trend. There are certainly other schools the should do likewise.

Maybe she could sit in on a class of Constitutional Law while she is there and learn what the 1st amendment means;
or biology and learn when the life of a human being begins;
or sociology to learn that increased use of contraception actually leads to more unwed pregnancies, abortions, and STD's;
or maybe statistics first so she could see why the IOM studies are not reliable;
no wait, an ethics class so she learn that the ends do not justify the means and that persons are not to be used;
actually she could start with a conversation with a good priest, to learn about her immortal soul, the 10 commandments and the Gospel… do they have good priests at Georgetown?

No coach, there probably aren't any good priests left at Georgetown. If there were any then we would have heard from at least one of them by now. A good priest would in a situation like this would speak out forcefully and honestly. I bet that is forbidden in
The New Jesuit Catholic Church. There are a couple of good priests remaining at ND. Fr. Wilson Miscamble,C.S.C. comes to mind. He might be willing to meet with Secretary Sebelius if and when she decides to renounce her satanic way of life. Hopefully that would be an "off campus" meeting. Some of us "old timers" are still fussy about who steps upon that sacred ground(I know that it was defiled long ago). I guess it can't do any harm to pray for her conversion, maybe for the Jesuits too–and let's include the Taliban for good measure.

I think Georgetown and Sebelius are really protestant even though they call themselves "catholic".
