This isn’t just plain ol’ asshattery. This is a crowning achievement that will be remarked upon with glee by asshats for generations.
James Lipton of “Inside the Actors Studio” lectures Mitt Romney on how to relate to people. You know, because when I think common man I think James Lipton. It actually says little about Romney but all you’ll ever want to know about James Lipton, who not only criticizes Romney but Ronald Reagan too.
What a jerk.
I’m sure all of Lipton’s friends will huzzah him for this pointed barb but I’m telling you that if I had a choice of watching this on YouTube again or watching skateboarders damage their junk on handrails, I’m choosing exploding junk on handrails every time. Yeah, it’s that painful.

Thinly veiled malice. Hang in there, Willard!

Like it or not, Mitt Romney is not the "common man" if you will. And I for one am so sick and tired of politicians pretending to be.

At least Mr Romney knows enough to look at the camera.

Know what's more painful than watching skateboarders getting racked on handrails…..Listening to Mitt Romney. Seriously, whoever this Lipton guy is, hit the Romney nail pretty square. Romney isn't comfortable in his own skin because wolves don't fit in sheeps clothing. Just hoping for a good third party candidate.

Hey Anonymous: I'm sure that Romney, in his private life, is very comfortable with himself. When he becomes president (God willing), I'm sure he will be very comfortable leading this country. Maybe he's not that comfortable with the inanities of politicking and having to suck up to various interest groups – which is a plus for me.

I don't know. Maybe not the best messenger and I'm sure Lipton doesn't really care to "help" Romney with his advice, but I'm pretty certain Romney could do worse than taking this advice.

Golly, if a shamelessly effete sycophant with a droning PBS voice doesn't like you….

Hey Dave E…. Romney is a politician, the son of a politician and I am without a doubt that the practice of saying "whatever will get him elected" is as easy to him as breathing. The good thing there is that videos stay around long enough to show him for the hippocrite he is. What he is not good at is being genuine, because he is not. It would not surprise me at all if under all those lies and flip flops he has no idea of who he really is at heart. The only difference between him and Obama is that Obama admits to being a liberal. In as much as he wasn't the perfect or best candidate, at least Santorum was fairly consistent, morally consertive and a somewhat politically conservative candidate. Romney doesn't even come close to that.

I loathe the smugness, but the dude is spot on with most of his critique. And he is 100% right that politics and acting have been fused into one. That's why I'm still hopeful that Santorum can have his day in the future. Of course I like the way he thinks, but he also has the appropriate (at least according to modern day society) demeanor.

I don't know what kind of formatting went into this, but when it gets sent out in the subscription email, it automatically opens a new window and launches the video. Possibly contributed to a computer crash this morning.

Matthew – He did NOT "criticize" Reagan. He said he was a SAG card-carrying actor…which he was. Why are you trying to lie and instigate here?
As far as I'm concerned this is a Hollywood elitist vs an economic elitist. Godzilla vs Mothra. Might be fun to watch, but who really cares who wins?

Gee, he's no worse that the narcissistic little empty suit currently running the country.
You know, all 57 states of it.

Oh, well, there goes the Pretentious Gay Acting Teacher vote for Romney, meaning he'll lose Santa Monica and the East Village to Obama.

And this is why this loser hack INTERVIEWS people WITH talent, HE HAS NONE.

What a pompous ass. He parodies himself. And no advice for the Marxist Kenyan usurper? Teleprompter hints? Liptons show is painful, all those commie actors bloviating on about their "craft" while Lipton unctuously murmurs adulation.Almost makes me sympathetic for bankster shill warmonger Mittens….but not quite.
