This kind of thing scares me. While many were confident upon hearing the questions raised by the justices concerning Obamacare, Pelosi’s confidence about it being a 6-3 ruling for Obamacare frightens me to no end.
I don’t think it’s impossible at all to think that somehow Pelosi got wind of this. Not at all. Mind you, Pelosi’s made all sorts of ridiculous predictions before (especially right before the 2010 elections.)
Let’s hope this is the same as that stupod prediction. CNS reports:
Pelosi, in reference to how the nine-judge court will rule, said, “6-3. That’s it. 6-3.”
She was then asked why she was so confident about her prediction, “Do you have a crystal ball or what is your confidence — you wrote the bill but why do you have this confidence?”
Pelosi said: “Because I know the Constitution. This bill is ironclad. It is ironclad.”
“Nobody was frivolous with the Constitution and the health of the American people in writing the bill,” she said. “So, that’s where my confidence springs from, the merit of the bill and the nature of the Constitution.”
“The makeup of the court, well, we’ll see,” Pelosi said.

I don't tend to give much credence to Pelosi's predictions.
The individual mandate might go down – especially since the government's lawyer did a REALLY bad law at oral argument. I mean, stupendously bad.
The part I don't understand, though, is media speculation that the entire statute might get tossed.
If you've had a look at the statute, they threw everything plus the kitchen sink in there, and only a fraction of it was being challenged in the recent Supreme Court case.
It seems unlikely that, say, the expanded medicaid coverage would be tossed even if the worst case scenario happens with the decision.
We shall see in a few weeks…

Katy,
The Democrats deliberately removed what is known as a 'Severability Clause' from the legislation. See here: http://tinyurl.com/cnn6crf This normally means that if one part is struck down, the whole law is struck down.
Now, the Supreme Court could confound that and strike only the mandate. But they showed a certain skepticism to that during oral arguments.

If she said 5-4 I might be worried

Thank you, Dave. Scalia, Thomas, Roberts and Alito. Ginsburg is still looking for informed sexual consent for fourteen year old girls.

Pelosi says she knows the constitution, The Constitution for the United States of America or the constitution she and Obama rewrote? The problem with Obamacare, along with its violations of the human being, is the blank check it gives Sebelius who is not even an elected official to demand things no citizen ever voted for. Taxation without representation. What's behind door number two? is a game, not politics. No tax dollars may be used to deconstruct our Declaration of Independence or decreate America's moral destiny.

Obamacare is ironclad empty like the Trojan (no pun intended) Horse.
May 31, 2012 at 10:42 pm
Worst case scenario, Obamacare passes. With the incoming GOP Administration and Congress, the so-called constitutional compliant law can still be repealed.
Best case scenario, she's being Nancy – not worthy of any serious consideration not alone worry. Perhaps she's been taking some of that medical marijuana that is legal in her home state and maybe some blow – like Obama.

If she's wrong: Give a prayer of thanks.
If she's right: Gird our loins, it's going to be a bumpy ride from here.

There are all sorts of arguments to be made about how the Catholic hierarchy handles priests accused of sexual abuse of minors. My view – call me crazy – is that people who sexually abuse minors should be reported directly to the police and fired. Canon law should not require paying for the retirement of child rapists, or taking care of them for the rest of their lives. Cardinal Dolan – the man leading the crusade against contraception in universal healthcare and the civil rights of gays and lesbians – disagrees. He provided payments to encourage priests to accept defrocking in order to accelerate the process under canon law, as Laurie Goodstein reports today. I'm with the victims on this:
“In what other occupation, especially one working with families and operating schools and youth programs, is an employee given a cash bonus for raping and sexually assaulting children?”
But that's the morality of current canon law. Cardinal Dolan's not responsible for existing canon law. But the real issue here is not what Dolan did, but that it now seems clear he lied about it:
Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan of New York authorized payments of as much as $20,000 to sexually abusive priests as an incentive for them to agree to dismissal from the priesthood when he was the archbishop of Milwaukee. Questioned at the time about the news that one particularly notorious pedophile cleric had been given a “payoff” to leave the priesthood, Cardinal Dolan, then the archbishop, responded that such an inference was “false, preposterous and unjust.”
"False, preposterous and unjust" is quite a statement. New evidence from the records, however, show Dolan was at the very meeting the payoffs were agreed to (just as the current Pope was at a meeting that allowed a child rapist to go on to assault and abuse more children). Dolan may recall that lying violates one of the ten commandments (which, for some mystifying reason did not include "Thou Shalt Not Have Non-Procreative Sex"). Maybe there's some exculpatory explanation for what appears to be, on its face, a bald-faced and aggressive lie. So far:
Cardinal Dolan, who is president of the national bishops’ conference and fast becoming the nation’s most high-profile Roman Catholic cleric, did not respond to several requests for comment.
And so we wait for Dolan's confession. I doubt the victims of rape will provide absolution

ABC NEWS:
Cardinal Dolan Quiet on $20K Payments to Pedophile Priests ?
Dolan left the Milwaukee archdiocese in 2009 to become archbishop of New York, the second largest diocese in the country, and in 2010 became the head of the conference of bishops, the most visible Catholic role in the country. Isely, of SNAP, wondered if Dolan now presided over similar arrangements in other dioceses.
"Is this a nationwide policy by U.S. bishops to pay off priests? To dump them quietly into the community, and when they do this, they don't tell people who these individuals are," Isely said.
Months after Dolan left Milwaukee, the archdiocese there filed for bankruptcy, after more than 570 alleged victims came forward claiming abuse by priests.

According to Peter Isely, of the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP), the payments are tantamount to "bonuses" paid out to child rapists and molestors.
"I don't know any other organization that when you're fired from your job because of a criminal act, you get paid to leave your job," Isely said. "Obviously something is profoundly wrong with this system that they say is fixed. You're paying off a child rapist; you're giving them a bonus check; it's a bonus basically."
The archdiocese contested that claim, saying the payments were used to quickly move suspected pedophiles out of the priesthood, according to the AP. Spokeswoman Julie Wolf said the payments were to help the men transition to lay life without completely losing access to needs such as health care.
Dolan declined to comment on the matter, but the archdiocese of New York told ABC News today that Dolan "has read and supports the statements that came out of Milwaukee."
Isely said that up until at least 2010, priests accused of pedophilia were still being paid the money, typically divided into two payments of $10,000 – one when they began the process of laicization, and one when they completed it.

Nancy Pelosi also claims to know her Catholic faith. Is that how well she "knows" the Constitution?
June 1, 2012 at 1:35 am
If Pelosi is right, then Romney, and all Republicans in the House and Senate, run on the platform of repealing Obamacare.
If Pelosi is wrong, Romney runs against an administration that wasted over 2 years on a rotten health care plan rather than fixing the economy.

It is shameful how Liberals dig up decades old policies and spin it to discredit Card. Dolan for making a stand to protect religious freedoms.
They cannot defend the error of Obama's position so, they attack the messenger. Lame, dishonest, unintelligent fools.

Pelosi also says "We have to pass this bill to find out what's in it."

I actually think this bodes well for the demise of ObamaCare. In general, the court does not like being told by mere mortals how they will vote ahead of big decisions. The Administration did a similar stunt when Hosana-Tabor was before the court, it did not help them.
Nancy didn't write this bill, she doesn't even know what's in it.

The Rule of Law, if there is any law left in America, requires Cardinal Dolan, Pope Benedict XVI and priest, bishop or cardinal to witness any crime of child abuse to be able to testify to the crime and the criminal in a court of law. Without any such witness, the accusations are "hearsay" and indadmissible in secualr court and in Church court. 570 ALLEGED VICTIMS AND NO, NONE, NO WITNESSES. Does anybody think for a moment that the criminal invites witnesses against his crime? This is what is going on in the public school, which cannot even be held accountable. Those who would demand that Cardinal Dolan or Pope Benedict XVI testify to witnessing the crime of child abuse when the priests have not, are perjurers themselves.
