An old college buddy of mine brought his kids over my house today and as we were watching the kids in the backyard he started making jokes about how different our situation is from when we were partying in college.

I told him that my life right now with five kids home isn’t that different at all from when I was attending parties in college.

In College:

I was surrounded by people blathering incoherently about wanting to go out somewhere…anywhere…but had no ability to drive.

Someone just took their shirt off for no explicable reason.

1/2 empty cups are…EVERYWHERE!

There’s a girl crying for some unspecified reason.

At odd hours of the night, there’s people trying to get into other people’s beds.

Somewhere and it’s impossible to predict where and why but a fight is inevitably about to break out.

Somebody is falling down for some unspecified reason.

Nobody wants to do homework or study.

Parents have to pay for everything.

Hmmm. When I look at it that way, it seems to me that not all that much has changed in my life.
