Just a thought.
Today is the 88th birthday of George H.W. Bush. Happy birthday to a good man.
And this brings me to my point. I think the Bushes are great guys. I like them all.
They are the most decent, honest, and nicest guys in the world that I want nowhere near the government.
Which brings me to my worry. Are the Republicans trying to elect Mitt Herbert Walker Romney?

Of course. But we all know how you feel about voting for politicians with an actual will to change things, like Ron Paul. So you've got to be pretty pleased, right?

Andrew
Is it any wonder that nobody likes Ron Paul supporters?

Sorry, that was posted from my phone, I have no idea how it re-posted so many times. Sorry about that. It was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. Like I said, love the blog, I just can't get my head around your presidential politics.

Nope. No wonder at all….no wonder at all….no wonder at all….
Hey, they're called "Paulbots" for a reason.

Ron Paul has an actual will to change things. Much like Mussolini. With whom he also shares a simplistic ideology and a cult of personality.
Sorry. Sane Americans had their fill of the Great Man theory of politics the most recent time around; just change the environmentalist sloganeering to fiscal conservative/Jingo isolationist sloganeering, and Ron Paul could just give Obama's inauguration address all over again.
Some fanatical ideologue are more dangerous than others, but being a fanatical ideologue is never a good thing. No, Romney is far from an ideal candidate—but neither was the 1920s Italian parliament an ideal political structure.

Perhaps I can mollify you with a joke:
George W. Bush was walking through an airport last week, when he saw an old man with white hair, a long white beard, wearing a long white robe and holding a staff. He walked up to the man, who was staring at the ceiling, and "Excuse me sir, aren't you Moses?"
The man stood perfectly still and continued to stare at the ceiling, saying nothing. Again,GeorgeW. asked, a little louder this time, "Excuse me sir, aren't you Moses?" Again, the old man stared at the ceiling motionless without saying a word. George W. tried a third time, louder yet. "Excuse me sir, aren't you Moses?" Again, no movement or words from the old man. He continued to stare at the ceiling.
One of George W's aides asked him if there was a problem, and George W. said, "Either this man is deaf or extremely rude. I have asked him three times if he was Moses, and he has not answered me yet." To which the man, still staring at the ceiling finally replied to the aide, "I can hear him and yes, I am Moses, but the last time I spoke to a bush, I spent 40 years wandering in the wilderness."
