If I see one more person on the internets suggest that perhaps Justice Roberts is being clever and outwitted the Dems by using a tax justification instead of the Commerce Clause I will scream.
Stop. Please stop.
People, the progressives just reached out from Congress to force you (force you) to enter into a private contract against your will and they didn’t even need the Commerce clause or the good ‘n plenty clause to do it. If they can do this all without even the need or pretense to use the Commerce Clause, there is almost nothing they cannot do.
Justice Roberts is not being clever, he is being craven. You liberty is gone, you just haven’t felt the effects yet.
See why in my follow up post “Today’s Decision Supports the HHS Mandate”

Why do people think that Romney is a life saver?Romney,Roberts, Obama they are all the same. They have the same agenda one world government. Have you ever noticed that neither party undoes what the other does? The government becomes bigger and bigger? They (both parties)http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2012/02/the-5-minute-speech-which-got-judge-napolitano-fired-from-fox-news.html work together, they are a 2 headed snake. I also think that they will let the HHS mandate fly, just like I predicted Obamacare would not be struck down. What Roberts did was to reveal to us who he really is.

Why do people somehow expect the statist Bushes to be different from the statist Obamas? They are all cut from the same cloth stooges for the elites intent on destroying this country, Western Civilization because they are control freak psychopaths. Roe vs Wade was inevitable once the state was accepted as Arbiter of All by a population converted to humanism and Marxism in "Our Sacred Government Schools". And the molding of the population into cattle for the elites was accomplished the same way. C.S. Lewis wrote of it:The Abolition of Man. Ever see "The Time Machine"? Baaaa

I am sort of perplexed by the stuff said here.

I am sort of perplexed by the stuff said here. Roberts decision put a stake in the heart of any further attempts to use the Commerce clause to pass this sort of odious legislation. This part of his decision will be an important firewall against overreach by the government for years to come. He also said it could not be sustained under the Necessary and Proper clause.
He said they could not force the states to participate in this craziness. Obamacare was going to force all states to participate, Roberts said they could not do that.
He did say that the President was a liar, and this was a TAX. It could never have been passed if this fact was known. Roberts has paved the way for the repeal of Obamacare. He has motivated millions to go out and vote for Romney, who will dismantle Obamacare. Romney, rather than Obama, will pick the next 2or 3 justices, further moving the court to the right.
It was a brilliant decision.

Have not all US taxpayers been complicit in abortion for many decades now due to government funding for Planned Parenthood? The 2008 elections gave free reign to fanatically abortion-minded officials who predictably escalated the war on the unborn. Yes, Justice Roberts caved in against a tsunami of evil just as many other officials have to one degree or another, e.g. Bart Stupak. I can only imagine the very personal threats these individuals received from the Abortion Mafia. I would guess that if Justice Roberts had only been threatened with being fired then beheaded (as in the case of St. Thomas Moore), he would not have caved in and instead would have made the correct call.
