You know how Catholics have been arguing that faith isn’t something we just practice on Sunday. But the Obama administration doesn’t seem to understand that and have sought to separate people of faith from actually living out their faith with the HHS mandate.
Our complaints seem to have fallen on deaf ears. But it turns out that Michelle Obama believes that faith is a 24/7 proposition…as long as it’s faith in Barack Obama.
Weasel Zippers reports:
First lady Michelle Obama Thursday offered a rare public reflection on her religious faith, telling a conference of the African Methodist Episcopal church that the life of Jesus Christ is a model for democratic organizing.
“It’s kind of like church,” Obama said. “Our faith journey isn’t just about showing up on Sunday for a good sermon and good music and a good meal. It’s about what we do Monday through Saturday as well, especially in those quiet moments, when the spotlight’s not on us, and we’re making those daily choices about how to live our lives.
“We see that in the life of Jesus Christ. Jesus didn’t limit his ministry to the four walls of the church,” she said. “He was out there fighting injustice and speaking truth to power every single day. He was out there spreading a message of grace and redemption to the least, the last, and the lost. And our charge is to find Him everywhere, every day by how we live our lives.”
Obama, who is not a regular churchgoer, said citizenship like the practice of faith is “not a once-a-week kind of deal.”
But if you want to do what your church teaches on Monday through Saturday, there is a tax for that.
Sometimes good citizenship means resisting the State 24/7 365. This is one of those times.

Yikes, she may get rounded up and sent to a re-education camp.

I didn't think she ever DIDN'T have the spotlight on her…

Those who can't do, teach.

And didn't Pelosi comment recently that she kept her faith for church on Sunday only?

This is indeed "one of those times". Some of us will need the courage of a martyr to lead or participate in the "resistance" that is called for in order to restore this country.

What a ridiculous thing to say. Jesus did not "speak truth to power." He spoke truth to everyone, and he didn't CARE whether people were "powerful" or not. Sure, he said a lot of things that upset powerful people — but they came to him to hear them. It wasn't like he was driving around in a bus picketing Roman provincial headquarters.

"“He was out there fighting injustice and speaking truth to power every single day. "
Typical rhetorical inflation. Jesus did not, by our records, do any such thing. He pretty much left the Roman Empire alone, and even when hauled into court was pretty mum. The Obamas faith is their business, but I get the impression it is social gospel, liberal politics, simple.

I believe that it is a bit more then the simple, liberal social gospel. I see it as liberation theology…with a firm Marxist foundation.

If only we could get Catholics like Nancy Pelosi to adopt the idea that faith isn't just a Sunday morning activity. ProudHillbilly got it right. In a slap at the Fortnight for Freedom supporters she was blunt that her faith is something she does on Sunday morning. The question then is "What's the point?"
