A Canadian amateur astronomer who discovered several asteroids has named one after gay rights pioneer Frank Kameny who died last year in Washington.
Kameny was a U.S. government astronomer in the 1950s who was fired from his job for being gay. He contested the firing all the way to the Supreme Court and organized the first gay rights protests outside the White House in the 1960s.
Now he’s got an asteroid named after him.
Must resist all “flaming” jokes.

Really expect better from you. This post is cruel and you have opened the door to nasty jokes. He was an astronomer for goodness sake. It was unjust to fire him for being gay. I have no love for the gay agenda that forces acceptance of a sinful lifestyle. But is it really just to say gay people can not have jobs just for being gay? If we want to change hearts and minds and show the truth that the Catholic church does not hate gay people, this post is the wrong way to go.

"Believing Christians should look upon themselves as such a creative minority and … espouse once again the best of its heritage, thereby being at the service of humankind at large."
This post is an example of the best of Roman Catholic heritage being espoused is it?
