I really feel for this guy, I do. I mean I feel a little bad about laughing at him, but I still did it. Mostly because I killed my whole lawn a few years ago. Actually, my wife killed it, but that is a long story.
The difference between me and him is that I didn’t try to blame anyone, well, except my wife of course.
Lessons learned? Read labels and when you are an idiot, don’t call the local news to let them know about it. Unless of course, you really are an idiot.

Mr. Olsen – "I think the packaging should say right on it: This will kill your lawn."
Reporter – "It will.. and it did."
Hahahahahahahahahha…

As a gardener and a lawyer, I can say that these bottles are clearly labeled, but most consumer protection laws are written to protect the ignorant from themselves.

Umm, guys, I think the poor guy is mostly trying to get publicity and help for his CF fundraiser. He's really in a bit of a bind on that, and doesn't have a lot of time. It's a mistake anyone could make, and I think he figures if even the lawn and garden people couldn't tell the difference in packaging right offhand, he might have a legitimate complaint. After all, the consequences for him were pretty huge, because he can't even replant grass or anything else. What's he gonna do, bring in all new dirt? Pave over his entire lawn? He's kind of desperate, and it really isn't entirely his fault. If I were the manufacturer, I'd change those labels asap, because that's just an accident waiting to happen. And I'd try to make it right with the guy by fixing his lot for him so he could have his fundraiser. Wouldn't it be nice if simple decency and prudence won out over strict legalism over who's at fault? Maybe I just watch too many old movies….

Wondering what this will do to his family's health as well as the waterways. I understand that Roundup will leave you sterile, not something that should be used without reading the whole label.
