“Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name. “
There will be many antichrists before the world bears witness to the lawless one. The Church teaches us that ” Before Christ’s second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers. The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth will unveil the “mystery of iniquity” in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth. The supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh.”
Many suspect the scenario in my opening quote from the Book of Revelation (the mark on the right hand or the forehead that will be a requirement of commerce) will be a feature of the reign of Antichrist.
How about another bible quote?
“What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.”
When the day comes in which visible allegiance to that faith, which is against Christ, is a requirement of commerce, most people will go along with it. How do I know this? Because many people are going along with it now.
The mark of the beast…

Yes Misha,
I think that sometimes that when people make statements like that, that we are living in the intellectual dark ages. That is, the century of irrationality.
Also Patrick,
Here's a prophecy predicted by Our Lady of Quito to Mother Mariana,
"I make it known to you that from the end of the 19th century and shortly after the middle of the 20th century…. the passions will erupt and there will be a total corruption of customs (morals)….
“They will focus principally on the children in order to sustain this general corruption. Woe to the children of these times! It will be difficult to receive the Sacrament of Baptism, and also that of Confirmation…
“As for the Sacrament of Matrimony… it will be attacked and deeply profaned… The Catholic spirit will rapidly decay; the precious light of the Faith will gradually be extinguished… Added to this will be the effects of secular education, which will be one reason for the dearth of priestly and religious vocations.
“The Sacrament of Holy Orders will be ridiculed, oppressed, and despised… The Devil will try to persecute the ministers of the Lord in every possible way; he will labor with cruel and subtle astuteness to deviate them from the spirit of their vocation and will corrupt many of them. These depraved priests, who will scandalize the Christian people, will make the hatred of bad Catholics and the enemies of the Roman Catholic and Apostolic Church fall upon all priests…
“Further, in these unhappy times, there will be unbridled luxury, which will ensnare the rest into sin and conquer innumerable frivolous souls, who will be lost. Innocence will almost no longer be found in children, nor modesty in women. In this supreme moment of need of the Church, the one who should speak will fall silent.”
"In a subsequent apparition, Our Lady told Mother Mariana that these apparitions were not to become generally known until the twentieth century."
I believe that we are on the verge of the restoration of the Catholic Faith. I know our world isn't doing so hot given that our society aborts it's own children, celebrates same-sex unions and contracepts. No need to be sad folks. Let's put our faith in God. And resist the temptations the Devil has set before us.

There was a HUGE line at my campus Chick-fil-A today! I think it should be noted that it's not a free standing store, but inside our student center. I didn't personally partake (I'm busy and all) but I was sure to say hi to the nice ladies who work there.

I'm truly tired of the diatribes that get tossed around when differing opinions are expressed. I'd prepared my post for today before the Chick Fil A "buycott" (although a photo from yesterday's crowded restaurant was too tempting NOT to add in)… But it was certainly an interesting coincidence that "Support C-F-A" took place on the day that post was scheduled:
