Caroline Kennedy is famous because her family is famous. But she’s working hard to become infamous. At the Democratic convention she stunningly defended abortion “as a Catholic woman.”
Kennedy promoted the legalized death of innocents as a Catholic virtue. And she did it on national television.
You see she didn’t just defend abortion like all the other Dems, she defended abortion specifically as a “Catholic woman.”
As a Catholic woman, I take reproductive health seriously. And today it is under attack. This year alone, more than a dozen states have passed more than 40 restrictions on women’s access to reproductive health care. That’s not the kind of future I want for my daughters or your daughters. Now isn’t the time to roll back the rights we were winning when my father was president. Now is the time to move this country forward.
Millions of people tuned in to the DNC convention and be assured that many were confused by her comments. This is the very definition of scandal.
I pray that her bishop and the bishop of Charlotte condemn these remarks and speak with Caroline Kennedy in the very near future.

Her parish priest/confessor needs to have a chat with her as well.

The confusion could be quickly ended by an excommunication.

Her bishop is His Eminence, Timothy Cardinal Dolan! Why is anyone even remotely surprised by what she said?

I'm sure Cardinal Dolan will get right on this…

"That's not the kind of future I want for my daughters or your daughters." She totally forgot: "… in case they have sex and are punished with a baby."

Dolan did well in his closing prayer. Thank God, he was present.

And to think Obama wanted to send her to the Vatican….

I wonder what rights she was talking about. The right to purchase contraception was defined by the Supreme Court before the Kennedy presidency. New York passed it's landmark abortion law after the death of both Jack and Bobby Kennedy. In point of fact, even Edward Kennedy was pro-life in his politics until after Roe v Wade. Caroline seems as adept at re-writing history as the government in Orwell's 1984. Unfortunately, some of us have been around long enough to remember some of that history she's trying to re-write. BTW how do I know when New York passed it's law? Well a friend of mine got an abortion in 1968 and had to go to Johns Hopkins to get it, and had to sign a paper saying she'd commit suicide if she didn't get it (in order to fall under the health of the mother provision), even though she didn't want the abortion and was being pressured into it by her parents. Another friend did take advantage of the New York law, but not until 1970. When I was in college the Episcopal chaplain was ferrying girls to Canada for abortions because they were so difficult to get in the U.S. (this was in 1967,1968, and 1969)> Jack Kennedy was long dead throughout all of those years.

Dolan delivered a beautiful prayer …. BUT … liberals were not thrilled. According to Michelle Malkin's blog, Twitchy.com, here are some reactions. CAUTION .. VERY GRAPHIC CONTENT!

Caroline Kennedy is an idiot.

"As a Catholic woman" like that gives her any authority.

And as we all know, the Kennedy clan are all about respect for women and for human life.
Really, has anyone totalled up the dead Kennedy girlfriends?

I think she is representative of a segment of Catholics who feel the same way. My brother-in-law and his wife are Catholic, and even sending their three kids to Catholic schools, but they are "pro-choice" too. So sad and troubling.
