How much more can I take?
I have been covering this election since January 21st, 2009 I think. And now, now we are here.
I have posted my prediction, which I sincerely hope is on the low side. But I must admit, my heart is in my stomach and I can’t sleep. The stakes are that high.
Y’all know my feelings about Romney. If he wins it will take everything we have to keep him from compromising on the uncompromisable, from negotiating the non-negotiables. But that is tomorrow’s battle.
Today’s battle is unseating a most horrific man from the Presidency. With four more years of Obama, I don’t think there is any coming back for this country. Religious freedom will be irreparably weakened and under constant assault. Economic freedom will be a thing of the past. And the debt will pile up so quickly that our economy will not recover. And the babies, how many babies will die via my tax dollars?
With so much at stake, I cannot sleep. My mind tells me one thing, but my emotions pay no heed. I swing wildly from thoughts of a landslide rejection of Obama to him squeaking it out. From exultation to horror. My inner Eeyore chatters in my ear and pays no heed to my entreaties to shut up.
I can picture a Romney win, I can. But the thought of the other outcome weakens my knees. Maybe that’s a good thing. On my knees is probably where I should be.
Tomorrow is the judgement day. Tomorrow we’ll discover what our God in Heaven has in store!
One more dawn.
One more day.
One day more!

Couldn't have said it any better, including the Les Mis reference.

I feel sick about it and I'm not even American. Know that many Canadians are watching this, and fervently praying for your nation.

I suggest you find an adoration chapel and stay there for as long as you need. It will calm you greatly, and in the worst case, strengthen you for the trials to come.

Joining you on my knees, too.

with Mrs. Pinkerton. Yes, many Canadians are watching. This Canadian, too, is praying for you, our American cousins, praying that Catholics will listen to the faithful shepherds (Chaput, Jenky, Conley, et al) and vote as faithful Catholics.

Not just Canadians, Mrs Pinkerton and Wendell; Australians too!
Jason Fairfield's counsel is the best possible today and tonight.

Agree on all accounts – very well said. And I will be on my knees, praying for the elections, as well as the likes and minds of Anonymous, 11/5 at 1:19 am.

It's very important to the rest of the world too! We want Obama out as well as you. Our Lady of Good Success, pray for us.

I'm voting for Romney, but I'm going to watch him like a hawk if he gets in. His 'church' has a dark and bloody history of murder, perversion, deceit, and lies. The Mormon's also have a "White Horse" prophecy that the church will be used to save America from collapse. Messianic madness could grip the Mormon people and could cause no end of trouble for the rest of us. However, be as it may, I'm going to pray that God will use him like King Cyrus was used to return the Jews from the Babylonian captivity. I'm also going to pray that Paul Ryan will have a positive, Catholic influence on Romney. So, as Reagan used to say, "Trust, but verify."

I'm praying hard today. The Les Miz quote is perfect.
Thank you to all of you living outside of this country. Thank you for your prayers and thank you for understanding the seriousness of this issue!

I'm Irish and i'm nervous for you! I'm never nervous about elections but this is different. Praying for you all.

Praise God for all the prayers of people everywhere! Isaiah 44 talks about the idols that peope put their trust in. "Such stupidity and ignorance! Their eyes are closed and they cannot see. Their minds are shut and they cannot think." V.18. I pray that God will open the eyes and minds of everyone, especially those who are Christian.

I am so comforted to hear of prayers for our nation from our brothers and sisters around the globe. Thank you!! With Romney in office, we'll still be able to work for the good of all.

So many of us share your exact sentiments! I must admit I kneel at church, but seldom at home, but today I kneeled and implored Our Lord for an outcome that is pleasing to Him, for the man who will most do His Will and God knows I believe that man to be Romney. Yes, Mormonism might be tomorrows problem, but with Ryan as co-pilot, things might be very good, and I've even fantasized about Ryan getting Mitt to convert to the Church and all of Mormondom following suit. I can dream…

Servant of God Cora Evans (born a Mormon, died a Catholic and developed a new way of thinking about Jesus in The Mystical Humanity of Christ–her cause for sainthood proceeds…) pray for Mitt! Cora Evans, Servant of God, pray for the electorate, Servant of God, Cora Evans, pray for America!
