Not only do progressives now believe in sin, they believe in capital punishment for it.
Don’t get me wrong, they are still in favor of all the regular sins from avarice to murder, but there are some sins they just can’t stand.
Being fat and smoking. These sins must not be tolerated. For these sins, only one punishment will suffice. Death. Witness the Associate Press.
NEW YORK | Faced with the high cost of caring for smokers and overeaters, experts say society must grapple with a blunt question: Instead of trying to penalize them and change their ways, why not just let these health sinners die?
Annual health care costs are roughly $96 billion for smokers and $147 billion for the obese, the government says. These costs accompany sometimes heroic attempts to prolong lives, including surgery, chemotherapy and other measures.
Gotta hand it to progressives, they don’t have many sins but the ones they do have they take seriously. So much so that they dispense with all the religiously themed mumbo jumbo about forgiveness in favor of the almighty buck. If you are gonna cost more because you did something we look down our collective noses at, sayonara.
Message, if your sin is likely to kill you, make sure it is a popular sin among progressives. Active homosexuals also die much younger and cost big bucks, but they are popular right now. Fatties, not so much.
So if you are a fat smoker, you better be a gay one or the death panels will cut you off.

You can raise more taxes keeping these malfactors alive surely.

Even if you raise taxes on every citizen in the nation (including those who currently do not pay taxes) it will not be enough to cover the cost of this dud system. Obamacare was nothing more than a political stunt to force public acceptance of birth control, sterilizations, and abortions. Nothing else is covered for free in this program. You can't even get a hip replaced on this program. Do you think fatsos can lose weight through Depo though?

What about the promiscuous? It's really easy to draw a straight line between their behaviors and diseases contacted…

The attitude shown here is very common in East Asia. It's the reason that, in South Korea—whose median household income is comparable to France's—they still have beggars with no legs pushing themselves around on wooden boards with chair-wheels screwed to them, like the West did in the 1890s.

Of course, this "problem" wouldn't exist without Obamacare.
BTW, a general comment. Please post links to source articles.
