I have seen some bad vestments over the years, but the vestments of Fr. Humberto Alvarez are the superheroes of stupid.
Mexican Priest, Fr. Humberto Alvarez, wears vestments with the pictures, emblems, and logos of comic book superheroes.
I am sick to death with the foolish notion that to attract children to Jesus that you need to obscure Jesus with such nonsense. I don’t know if there is a canon law forbidding such idiocy, but there should be.
But guess what, it gets worse. Fr. Alvarez uses a machine gun water pistol to shoot holy water. I am not kidding.
What do you think of Fr. Alvarez’s antics?

Lex orandi, lex credendi. If your prayer is made of cartoons and toys, what is your faith made of?

Up, up, and please go away!

It's bad, but it doesn't look as bad as those awful multi-colored things that were so obviously polyester.
So, it's bad, but really, how much worse is it than the priest who was quoting the Spiderman movie to us in his homily? If you want a homily in which an actual church father is quoted, you have to decamp to an Eastern Orthodox church.
Also, it shouldn't be done, but the priest may actually be dumb, and not evil.
The hippies are a bunch of hypocrites- this priest might just have a low I.Q.

God becoming man isn't Super Hero enough?

Ah, the Father Alvarez Hour. It's all about me, me, me. My parish has one. Mass is a cross between Jimmy Swaggert and the David Letterman Show when he is the "presider".

What a jerk! So typical of the 'wanna be cool', 'look at me' mentality that has so infected the Church. These idiots ought to be sent to a monastery for a year or so of re-training and serious reflection. And if they refuse get rid of them!

In their misguided efforts to be "relevant" to young people, all they manage to do is insult the intelligence of the aforementioned kids and make fools of themselves.

May God have mercy on us.

The only youth drawn to antics like Fr. Alvarez' are the kids who
already feel that priests are ridiculous. They get a kick out of watching
his sort confirm what they already believe. Father, they're not laughing
with you, they're laughing at you.
A few years ago i would have been Fr. Alvarez' target demographic–
and i would have stayed far, far away from someone who believed he
had to dumb down the Faith that much for his flock. Evidently, he
believes the noble simplicity of the Truth, reverently presented, is too
much for the people of his parish to wrap their tiny, tiny brains around.
It's not catechesis, it's condescension.

Where is his bishop? Many of us want to see Pelosi, Biden and Sebelius ex-communicated, so should this guy. (I hesitate calling him priest; could never call him "Father".) He makes a mockery of Catholicism. He's just one more example of the corruption within the walls of our Church. Shame on him!

Child predator. This is very much the MO. First thing that came to mind, unfortunately.

Sacrilegious. Profanity. Where's his bishop? Why does he still have faculties? Has Rome been notified?
Did he think it was educational? He got it backwards then. Usually one goes from the profane to the sacred. One does not take the sacred and make it profane. Stupid and dumb.
