We keep getting told that gay marriage is inevitable and all who oppose it are homophobes who will be relegated to the dustbin of history soon enough. And sure, 2012 was a bad year for traditional marriage. But it was a bad year all around for conservatives. I’ll just ask why is one of the most liberal states in the country still polling to defend traditional marriage.
The Star Trib reports:
A majority of Minnesotans oppose legalizing same-sex marriage, the Star Tribune Minnesota Poll has found.
Fifty-three percent of Minnesotans say the state statute banning same-sex unions should stand. Only 38 percent say legislators should overturn the law this year, while 9 percent are undecided.
The new poll offers a fresh snapshot of an issue that has deeply divided the state. It was just five months ago that Minnesotans rejected a proposal to put the ban into the state’s Constitution. Legislators now are considering bills that would make gay marriage legal.
House Speaker Paul Thissen said he found the poll results surprising.
I believe that traditional marriage can win the day…as long as the Supreme Court doesn’t Roe us on gay marriage.

I live in one of the most left-wing states in the Union, a state President Obama carried with over 62% of the vote, and a state which has one Republican member in a ten-person Congressional delegation. Yet gay marriage passed here by a whopping, skin-of-the-teeth 51-49 margin when other leftist ballot initiatives sailed through, and that was after the gay marriage forces hugely outspent the proponents of traditional marriage. So not all is lost.

In most of East Asia, if you do the major component of a wedding ceremony, but for two guys, it just makes them blood-brothers (a slight variation on the ceremony, called "sakazuki" in Japanese, is how you get "made" in the yakuza).
Hindus are similarly fairly unlikely to start marrying gays—and the rest of Asia is Muslim, so…
Same goes for Africa, where everyone is either an animist, a traditional (not to say Bible-thumping) Christian, or Muslim. So really the only places gay marriage is even possible are in North America, South America, and Europe—none of which have terribly widespread support for it.

To approve same-sex marriage opens the door to polygamy, intra-familial (incest), inter-species (bestiality) and intra-generational (pedophilia/ephebophilia) marriage on the same basis – rights, justice, etc.
This violates Scripture, the Commandments, the Gospels, words of Jesus, the Epistles, 4000 years of Judeo-Christian theology and teaching. There is nothing in any of these that approves same-sex sexual acts, orientations or lifestyles.
This politicized social/sexual agenda also violates reality – years of science research, clinical practice, CDC, police and coroner statistics, anecdotal, behavioral and factual evidence. There is a drastic increase in STDs, including many incurable ones, hepatitis, HPV, herpes, HIV among homo-bi sexual partners, as well as an increase of mental health and other physical health issues. Cancers, violence, injuries, addictions, depression, emotional and relational instability, suicide, early death and the more approving the geographic region, the greater percentage of negative outcomes.

St. Nikao, everything you say is right, but consequentialist. The truth is, gay "marriage" falsifies Reality.

The supreme court is hopefully going to Roe you and all the other rednecks on this issue. If not it will keep getting passed in more states until all 50 have gay marriage.
