Progressives like Katrina may have an appreciation for the Soviet Union, but for her to claim so would suggest a level of honesty, integrity and consistency no longer found in the party. The party no longer believes in principles – it is a mere coalition of conspiring constituencies. It's only goal is control. As such, Katrina's comparison serves as a rhetorical device to convince her anti-USSR American viewers to distrust the Church and trust the powers and principalities she's held patronage to.

The MSNBC is a marvellous exponent of the propaganda instruments utilised by the former USSR. The Administration must be very pleased with it.

The late Paul Blanchard used to say the same thing about the Church back in the 40's and 50's.

The hate is expected from the media. But the complete lack of knowledge regarding church practices, history and ordinary facts is astounding. Even the coverage from EWTN is sorley lacking, it has devolved into a joke fest. Just yesterday they were laughing at the fact that a cardinal in the last conclave didn't obey all the rules. I don't find that funny or a good thing. This is a perilous time for the Church and nobody seems to grasp this. The Pope didn't resign because he was tired and anyone who believes that is kidding themselves. He resigned because he was taking a chance that major reform will be made and the rot will be thrown out of the clergy. And what does everyone talk about, including EWTN?…..Dolan or O'Malley becoming pope. Dolan who is a complete liturgical nightmare and craves the spotlight and the center ring at a circus, and O'Malley who honored Ted Kennedy and whose diocese is completley lacking in faith are hardly capable of reforming anything, they are politicians. I have not seen one media outlet talk about faith and humility and traditon or to even speak of the Church with love. It's all been reduced to a joke.

What can I say? We are, after all, surrounded by idiots.
