We have Pope Francis. Jorge Mario Bergoglio, SJ is an Argentine cardinal He has served as the Archbishop of Buenos Aires since 1998. He was elevated to the cardinalate in 2001. He was elected Pope on March 13, 2013, taking the papal name Francisco.
This was unexpected by everyone. He’s 76 years old.
Bergoglio, according to the Wikipedia page, has distanced himself from liberation theology early in his career.
I’m still awaiting him from behind the curtain. Here he is…
Update: He asked the people there to pray for him before he blessed them. This seems like a wonderful humility.
The bells are ringing.
This is a day of firsts. An amazing day. First Jesuit. First Pope from South America.
Wait, does this mean that I can’t make Jesuit jokes anymore?

We don't know for sure what the new Pope will do in liturgical matters. Perhaps Guido can persuade Francis to follow the example of Benedict and wear the Vestments and things that he did. Remember at first Benedict kept things simple like John Paul but starting in 2007 or 2008 he starting wearing more and more fancy Vestments that simply stated the Continuity with the Church's Tradition. As far as the LCWR I doubt that have open arms to them and as far as the SSPX they missed their chance back in January when they rejected his final offer to them to be part of a personal prelature.

As noted above regarding the replay issue. If I put my TV on a continuous replay would I be able to amass Plenary Indulgences ad infinitum?
Ahhh, the joys of technology. Imagine what the Reformation leaders would have said to Blogging or Twitter?
