Now that parts of Iraq are more stable, they are again open to archaeological exploration. This iexciting opportunity has already produced results.

BAGHDAD (TheBlaze/AP) — A British archaeologist says he and his colleagues have unearthed a huge, rare complex near the ancient city of Ur in southern Iraq, home of the biblical Abraham. The team first discovered the magnificent find using a satellite.

Stuart Campbell of Manchester University’s Archaeology Department says the site goes back about 4,000 years, around the time Abraham would have lived there. It’s believed to be an administrative center for Ur.

This presents really exciting opportunities for archaeology.

Of course, they won’t find the Ark of the Covenent.  No, its not already in a government warehouse in Nevada.  I have it on good authority it is still hidden and will be found by Elias when he returns to preach against the Antichrist.

But other than that, really good stuff left to be found.
