When I was a reporter in Philly, the Ira Einhorn extradition story was huge. When I started I remember looking into the database of archived stories and being shocked that Einhorn was pretty much THE go-to guy for quotes about anything environmental or hippie. At least he was until the po-po found his girlfriend stuffed into his trunk like an old blanket. Then not so much.
Funny how the environmentalists don’t celebrate the founder of Earth Day so much, huh?
It makes sense though. But in thinking about it, you’ve got to give credit to the radical abortionists who still celebrate the work of racist eugenicist Margaret Sanger. They just pretend those facts don’t exist while still hailing her as a great woman. They just deny reality. “What racism?”
Maybe in the future, environmentalists will just say, “What trunk?”
Here’s everything you need to know about the founder of Earth Day from The Daily Caller:
The self-described founder of a Earth Day is a convicted murderer.
Despite helping to found the environmental movement’s most important day of the year, environmental activist and self-proclaimed co-founder Earth Day Ira Einhorn had a dark side. NBC News recalls that Einhorn was found guilty of murdering his ex-girlfriend and stuffing her “composted” body inside a trunk.
After his girlfriend of five years, Helen “Holly” Maddux, broke up with him, Einhorn threatened to throw her belongings onto the street is she didn’t pick them up. She went to Einhorn’s apartment to retrieve them on Sept. 9, 1977 but was never seen again.
Several weeks later, Einhorn told police that she went missing after going out to the neighborhood co-op to buy tofu and sprouts. However, 18 months later authorities searched his apartment after neighbors complained that a “reddish-brown, foul-smelling liquid was leaking from the ceiling directly below Einhorn’s bedroom closet,” reports NBC News.
In the closet, police found Maddux’s “beaten and partially mummified body stuffed into a trunk that had also been packed with Styrofoam, air fresheners and newspapers,” according to NBC News.
Einhorn jumped bail and spent 23 years evading authorities and hiding out all over Europe. Finally he was caught and extradited to the U.S. from France, where he was put on trial and convicted of murder. He is currently serving a life sentence.
NBC News notes: “Taking the stand in his own defense, Einhorn claimed that his ex-girlfriend had been killed by CIA agents who framed him for the crime because he knew too much about the agency’s paranormal military research.”
Dude’s not just crunchy. He’s nuts.

Maybe this is one of the FBI false flag conspiracies mentioned in the combox of another post. Do ya think. I hope he stays in jail forever.

I love the world God created for us. I think being good stewards is of critical importance in showing thanks. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to dislike here, aside from the obvious murderer, but it seems like we are trying to discredit a person in the hopes we dont celebrate the earth? It's confusing how the author is trying to mock earth day because its founder is a psychopath. But conserving isn't a bad thing. Im just confused by this piece. So…. Huh?

Though Einhorn claimed to be an organizer of Earth Day, several legitimate organizers disavowed that claim. They also claimed that he commandeered the mic for 1/2 an hour in an unscheduled attempt at publicity. It's difficult to know with 100% certainty whether they are simply covering their butts or telling the truth, since his name has been used to tarnish the reputation of Earth Day.

Senator Nelson claimed Earth Day "organized itself" so it was evidently a rather loosely organized event. http://www.nelsonearthday.net/nelson/earthdayidea.htm
While the story of the event organizers being unable or unwilling to take the mic from Einhorn seems suspicious to me (anyone ever heard of a volume control for a microphone?), I'm always leery of trusting the self-aggrandizing claims of a murderer given how little corroborating evidence there is. I chalk it up as something that I'll probably never know and doesn't really matter except when I want to tease an eco-freak.

I don't think most people pay to much attention to Earth Day from the way they don't even think about throwing their litter around and soiling swimming pools because their too lazy to get out and use a bathroom. Yes we need to care about this planet and its Natural resources but we always have to remember the greatest natural resource is Children the most endangered species not other kind of animal species. 56 million dead
