We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Our Founding Fathers understood that our rights come from God. Without our rights coming from our Creator our rights are only allowed to us by those stronger than us for as long as they choose not to take them away from us.
Our society today seems to seek independence from God when it must remember that independence is a gift from God that other men will constantly attempt to take away. But in this 21st century, we are shooing God from our lives and inviting the powerful to have dominion over every nook and cranny of our lives.
The supposition that all people are equal must presuppose God or it is mere foolishness. It’s plainly obvious that if we judge a person’s worth on what they contribute to society some people are more useful to society than others.
Religious people believe that all life is sacred. How does that belief translate into a godless universe? It doesn’t. If there’s no God, there are no inalienable rights. Where in a Darwinian universe do we find equality? It doesn’t exist.
And once it’s agreed that people are not equal, then it’s just a matter of what do we do with the less equal, especially when times are difficult.
America needs God. There are no inalienable rights without a Creator. When we seek to separate God from our country, we only remove the possibility of freedom for our future.

I just read the entire Declaration of Independence for the first time in my life. I don't know why it took me so long, but I just assumed I knew its contents. But holy cow! You can just replace "King of England" with "the US federal government" and it reads almost the same. Many of the charges brought out against the king of England could easily apply to our government today. Everyone should read why we separated from England and also ponder why we put up with so much government interference today.
