Behold!! The first of thousands!!!!
I checked this morning and found nothing. But my 10 yr old son, who checks multiple times a day, checked shortly afterwards and found this!!! He called me at work to tell me!!
I am officially a chicken egg farmer!!

I'm jealous. I'll have to wait at least a few years for my chickens. Til then, I'll farm vicariously through you.

I used to get in trouble with grandma for checking on the chickens too often. They wouldn't "set" if they had too many visitors, and so we were kept to checking the coop only twice a day. Maybe you should discourage your son from checking quite so much to see if that helps your girls too.

Well, all the hard work was worth it then, even if you only ever get one egg. (Here's hoping for dozens…)

I have chicken envy. No chickens. No fresh eggs. Nothing.

We started collecting eggs from our new chickens last month (they were about 4mo old). So far this month with our 16 birds, we have collected over 130 eggs!
I did offer the principal of our Catholic school to bring in eggs once a week and sell them, with the proceeds going to the school. Maybe a though for you if you get overwhelmed.
Almost all my children love collecting eggs, they go out about 5-6 times a day, doesn't seem to both the girls at all.
