Today the great pro-life group, the Susan B. Anthony List, began a $50,000 television ad buy in the Albuquerque, New Mexico media market to convince voters to support the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Ordinance that will be voted on in one week.
The ordinance would protect babies beginning at 20 weeks, or more than halfway through pregnancy, from the painful death of abortion.
These seem incredibly smart to me, especially having s self professed pro-choice women advocating for it. I’d love to hear what you think.

Meh. They could have done better with the message. They provided the fact of when a baby can feel pain, but not in any emotional or impactful way. I think there are much more striking ways to reach voters with a fact of this immensity.

I should add… I do commend them for trying, and spending the money to put the commercials out there. Its a very important message. <3

I think the majority of people they would be trying to reach, would blow off an emotional appeal as sensationalist or trying to manipulate feelings. I like that this is straightforward and rational and presents the facts. I think it's a good choice for how to reach their target audience.
