Here’s your uplifting story of the day. An Arkansas sheriff is refusing to remove a little white cross that somebody stuck in the ground behind the police station. But an atheist organization from Wisconsin is telling them they must pull it. Now, the sheriff’s got his back up. My favorite part is the little old lady interviewed at the end who said, “I think the Wisconsin folks ought to tend to their business and we’ll tend to ours.” And then she starts walking away.
Thank goodness there are still public officials with some common sense. The world cries out for people with common sense and a little bit of backbone. They’re very rare nowadays.

Yes, but I vote in every election, including those for sheriff. It's often a pretty lonely experience, but not nearly as lonely as voting in a school board election.

That little old lady is right!

"That little old lady is right!" because each and every citizen owns the public square in joint and common tenancy. Atheism was never put on the ballot. However, the First Amendment says that religion may not be prohibited, "or prohibit the free exercise thereof." And that means Freedom from Religion Foundation has no reason for being.

It's the difference of one word, one single preposition: "of," instead of "from." It should be freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM. And that's where they're getting it all wrong.

If that cross is "offensive" to the militant atheists, those must acknowledge that "militant atheism" is offensive to the catholic faithfuls.

To remove freedom from free men is cause for war. Only truth is allowed in a court of law. The atheist denies the existence of God with his God-given free will. The atheist shoots off his big mouth, shoots himself in the foot and cries civil rights.

Thank God for the sanity and goodness of this man! He is one of the remnant.
