Doug Kmiec, one of the leading Catholics for Obama and famed ambassador of Malta, is running for Congress so he can have a shot at being Hillary Clinton’s running mate. You know, I’m starting to think this guy may have completely lost it.
According to The Weekly Standard:
Kmiec said that if he wins the election, he would hope to be considered as an option to become the vice-president in Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign. “I see it as an outside possibility. . . . The idea of running for Congress is to put myself in a position where I’m able to both lead in the interim while she’s running for president and be ready for greater responsibility should that be God’s blessing and his wisdom,” he said. Kmiec’s blog further explains how the U.S., in his opinion, is “Ready for Hillary.”
Anyone else sensing we’re looking at the new president of “Catholics for Hillary?”

We were not worthy for her the first time she ran, I understand that now. Barack has made straight her paths so that we may be a more perfect people for all our future Democrat masters.

Robert Drinan of: "I am personally opposed to abortion, but I cannot impose my beliefs on anyone" fame ran for Congress and won. Doesn't the church forbid any priest to become a politician? A violation of the priest's promise to pray always?

Johnathan Boothby: Clinton wrote Clinton's heathcare law which prescribed two years in prison for any doctor who had the temerity to heal a patient, a sick person without her say so. It was defeated when the doctors learned of its monstrosity. Same for Clinton Now. If Kmeic leaves the church, good riddance.

Mary – I believe the prohibition of priests running for and holding political office came after Drinan's terms in office. If I am not mistaken, Blessed JPII put an end to that kind of thing.
