Whoa. This is intimidation. This is clearly an attempt to threaten the justices.

How about Susan Collins getting in on the act trying to save her own precious hide.
Can you imagine Congress putting these justices on trial for perjury before Congress. Let’s just apply for banana republic status and get it over with. If it’s Coe to this, the republic is done anyway. These people will stop at nothing. The next few months will be increasingly insane.

Besides gratitude, magnanimity in victory may be the most important response to this unexpected act of Divine Mercy.
It took time and effort to dissuade some people that treating another human being as property was wrong. Getting some to think of the unborn as human beings will also be a challenge.
Rejoice and be humble! We may just have avoided becoming the next Sodom and Gomorrah.

How would it be perjury? Is it their new pet, she gave an oath not to overthrow Roe and then she sided against abortion? I don’t see how else they could even pretend its perjury.

Oh, we have “banana republic” in our future regardless.
For one thing, just take a look at the Roman Republic from about 100 B.C. to the assassination of Julius Caesar. They had a kind of constitution that, for instance, determined when a man could be elected consul, but they increasingly found it convenient to ignore those restrictions and just do what they wanted anyway. They did that about an ever-growing list of things; they just ignored tradition and precedent, and acted on the basis of “we are in power and you cannot stop us from doing as we like.” It never occurred to them that the public was also buying into this contempt for tradition, so that when they tried to justify the assassination of Caesar to restore the traditional power of the Senate, the appeal to tradition was much less effective than they expected.
Our government has been doing the same thing for decades.

But there’s more to it than that. If American kids are learning fantasy-world pronouns, DIE, and CRT, but kids in, say, China are learning calculus it doesn’t require a miracle from God to punish us; we will have done that to ourselves.
Then look at the interest in the occult. Every town of moderate size has its own “paranormal investigations” club. I was shocked nearly 20 years ago to see a book of love spells in the check-out line of the Walmart in the small, conservative, Texas town where I was working. No doubt a good many people credit (or blame) Trump’s narrow election loss to the “binding spell” which “witches” put on him. Many of the people who claim to “follow the science” will have dabbled in one or more of these areas.
There is a kind of despair that permeates our whole society. We cannot have a show about nature that does not end with, “But soon all these animals will be extinct, and IT’S YOUR FAULT.” Despair manifests as a hatred of everyone and everything noteworthy in history, and in a hatred of the body which is evident in both in the metastasis of tattoos and in the transgender movement.

As a nation, we feel we are ENTITLED to global prominence and to an easy life. We now believe that governments are instituted among men –sorry, PEOPLE — deriving their just powers from the consent of the president of the United States. We don’t stop to think that most of our power and wealth was based on the fact that the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans combined to make sure our factories were not bombed during World War II, in contrast with those of the other major powers.
We don’t have the grit of our great-grandparents, who made it through the Depression and two World Wars. We don’t have the connection to God or to the rest of reality to get us through suffering. We have replaced the Bible with Game of Thrones and Easter Sunday with Super Bowl Sunday. People have gladly given their lives for Christ; how much will Micky Mouse comfort someone approaching a painful death? But suffering is as inevitable as rain.
I don’t think Huldah the prophetess could give us an answer more comforting than that she gave to King Josiah.
