Yeeeaaah, this seems like a pretty good thought.
I like this but I think the Church seems pretty intent on trying a different way first. Let’s try persecuting the hell out of trads and then just see what happens after a decade or so. I mean, why not? What could it hurt?
What’s the worst that can happen?

Some of these guys aren’t stupid. They look at the current parishes and the demographics.
They see that as the next 20 years roll by, that the Trads will be thriving.
As far as the others? Well, count the funerals and do the math.

We all know this. We know this from history. We know this by watching our current society. We know this by common sense. So the real question is – if we all know this and it is clearly obvious, then why are so many in leadership roles not doing it? Perhaps they have another idea…

Because they are lazy and they currently have everything that this life could give to them,
and more. Much more.
They live for “now”. And only “now”.
As Voris has said many times, these men have no supernatural Faith.
If you think that they think for ONE SECOND about the future, you are deluding yourself.

I agree that embracing traditional moral values is not a bad thing. I just do not agree that a Traditional Latin Mass is going to “save” the church. There are big families in NO Masses as well as holy people but as the comments have already stated, the NO churches are dying. I am sorry but the Traditionalists are not the only group that has large families who are holy. Also I think they should tread a little carefully by pointing out that to be thriving, you should have a huge family. Unfortunately, I have met way too many young couples who are having trouble conceiving one child and I cannot imagine what it is like to belong to a TLM church where large families are idolized.
In my diocese, where TLM is embraced, I have seen Traditionalist minded priests come and destroy thriving NO parishes to the point that the bishop has to be called in because there is such contention between the priest and his parishioners. We talk about TLM saving the church but I would be very curious to find out what kind of liturgies are being celebrated in the countries where Catholicism is thriving what the Masses are like. Are they Traditional Latin Masses or are the NO Masses? I think that a Church thriving is one that stands up boldly for the Church teaching, who has parishioners who want to grow in holiness, that embraces all liturgies and sees a place for both (not one more superior then the next), and works with each other to bring the Gospel. In the U.S. that is not happening because we are bickering over what liturgy style is the best.

Cheri, that has to be the best response yet to all those looking down their noses at faithful Catholics who attend the NO. They seem to forget that the NO was given to us by the Church Christ founded. He would never allow us to believe in something handed down by His own Church knowing that the faithful are obligated obey the teachings of the Church.
