Here’s the original version:
They got some blowback for obvious reasons and then attempted to “modify” the headline on the fly:
You see, now they’re trying to make gun culture that active part and the rosary is the victim. Watch how they downplay it further.
Why not just kill the entire story? They realized people are onto them. To kill the entire story would be too much of an embarrassment so they just continue modifying it.
Now gun culture is only “trying” to co-opt the rosary and they’re asking why the rosary is showing up in some pictures online with guns.
Hmmm. The answer to that is that you can find pretty much anything online. Case in point. I just googled “dancing snake” and got this:
Does this mean that snakes dance? Does this mean there’s a movement of people creating dancing snakes? Nope. It just means it’s the internet where people waste their precious lives doing stupid stuff.
You radical leftists wanted a hit piece on “Christian nationalism” and you jumped on a few random photos online and linked them together. They saw pictures of rosaries and guns and throughout “Hey, there’s two things we don’t like. Let’s do yet another piece demonizing Christians, especially those Catholics.”
This is insane. We all know it.
HT to Jack Posobiec who followed this story at The Atlantic so we didn’t have to.

I’m glad to see that the debate around the article is about just how mainstream the phenomenon is. Everyone seems to agree that rosaries and guns have no business being linked together and any such pairings should be repudiated as heresies. On this, we all agree.

Thank goodness. I thought were going to have to put our family rosaries in the gun safe.

Really John, Someone remind st. Maximilian Kolbe he’s a heretic then

I’m glad we all agree with the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Pope Pius V that the Rosary is a weapon, even though this offends the cultural marxists at the Atlantic…and modernist Catholics.
The Catholic faithful who won the battle of Lepanto were issued swords, spears, and a Rosary. All were considered necessary weapons in the war against the enemies of Christendom.
I’m having trouble finding the section in Catechism of the Council of Trent that deals with “heretical pairings.” Perhaps you could help me there?

On this we all do not agree. Mainstream? please cite why you state that

My wife and I will say a rosary for Daniel, in hops that God will bombard him with graces!

Hopefully people are canceling their subscriptions. That is the way to get through to the leftist policies in corporate America.

Professor: Atlantic subscriptions have been dropping for years. It will soon fade from the scene as things do when they lose purpose and relevance.

Have you not heard that the rosary is the “weapon” for our time? That is probably why it pops up if you are looking for weapons on the internet

“Bring me my ‘weapon’!” (The Rosary)

This is all good and well, because religion deserves to be able to defend itself properly. But please, let’s quit glorifying the crusades and the Inquisition. It’s not helpful. And trying to paint “the left” with a broad horrible brush is very un-Christian

I don’t see how the crusades were glorified here. what
I understand here is the fact that Our Lady was sought to obtain protective graces against superior forces. Those forces were violently invading Christian countries.
Unfortunately, few Christians reach the religious summit that St. Francis was graced to ascend. If the crusade’s armies had, they would only have needed the Bible, rosaries, and the graces of God as weaponry and supplies. All else would be provided according to God’s plans.

Lepanto a part of the Crusades? The Inquisition? No. Lepanto did not take place in the Holy Land. Nor, was it an effort to change anyone’s religion. It was one of the two battles that saved Europe from Muslim domination. Suggestion: Stop erroneously conflating things that you personally don’t like. And, please, learn some factual History, both spiritual and secular.
