It starts with Oprah celebrating women speaking “their truth.” Why is this dangerous? Bishop Robert Barron has some thoughts.
It’s funny how timeless Pilate’s question “What is truth?” actually is. It is the fundamental question of the struggle before us.
The answer is that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.

Good for Bishop Barron. I don’t always agee with him but he is absolutely on target here. It is, indeed, “enslaving” to make up your own truth. “The struggle of will against will” is a great summary of the disaster we face in our culture. We are seeing every day the enthronement of tyrants with the greatest power who impose their wills on the rest of us. All we have to do is think of the COVID mandates when the jackboot of government tyrants arrested people for surging ALONE at the beach. Where we all had to wear useless masks to go into the few open businesses we were allowed to patronize. I wrote about this on my blog today. As Christians we have a DUTY to defend and even suffer for the truth. I pray to have the courage to imitate Solzhenitisyn and always speak the truth no matter what! Through the power of THE TRUTH, Jesus Christ, it’s possible. Give me courage, Lord.
