This is an uncertain time. So pray for the Church. Pray for the Cardinals.
This is such an odd moment when the world slows down and focuses on a chimney.
As long as we don’t see this, I think we’ll be fine.

I know the Church is protected but the uncertainty of the last papacy confused and frustrated many people. I believe many people were confused by the statements from the last pope and that led to more sin. The Church needs a leader. Not an evangelist from the world to the Church but a man of faith who challenges the world.

“I know the Church is protected but the uncertainty of the last papacy confused and frustrated many people.”
Which is why we have to be deep in faith that this IS the True Church and trust in Christ, and no matter the storms that toss her about He will see us through. We leave the Church knowing she is the Pillar and Foundation of Truth? We’re on our own. Let’s not abandon ship no matter how awful it becomes. There is no where else to go.

We now have Pope Leo XVI. An american. Should be interesting if nothing else!

Time will tell. But based on his background and close association with Cupich, Francis II is a name more in line with how he probably will govern. Given that the Petrine protection doesn’t apply to Antipopes, now that the church has a valid successor to Benedict it will be very interesting to see what happens now. If “Leo XIV” continues the arc of Bergoglio, many Catholics may need to rethink the whole foundation of the Papacy and take a close look at the East.

Consider all the bad popes we’ve had. The Church still stands. Jesus hand picked His apostles. One betrayed him, the rest abandoned him. Peter was good for putting his foot in his mouth more times than not. Not a very good start for the Church yet it withstood the test of time. No matter this pope or the next, Christ will not abandon the Church he founded.

You can leave if you want but you’ll not find me going anywhere. This Church is the True Church. Just because some of it’s members do not live up to par is no reason to leave. There is no place else to go to.

Agreed. She is the real, true Church.
It’s sad to think of the thousands of priests who don’t truly believe that the Eucharist is the Body and Blood of Our Lord. If they did, they wouldn’t do the things they do.
