I am pleased as punch Hillary lost and Trump certainly proved me wrong about his ability to win. But trust has to be earned. Yes, he said many good things (and some bad) on the campaign trail, but I also remember that he was a life-long pro-abortion quasi-socialist democrat until he ran for president.

So by all means, enjoy the defeat of Hillary and appreciate Trump for the candor and no nonsense approach he brought to campaigning. But we all know winning and governing are different things. He now has a chance to earn the trust he has been given by so many and a brief time to do it without too much sniping. So enjoy the victory and the relief it brings, but some of the messianic euphoria I have been seeing seems inappropriate.

Congratulations President-elect Trump. You earned enough votes in the right places to win. Now please go earn the trust that comes with them.
