A friend recommended that I share a little devotion that I have been doing for some time now. Many people know of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy which was given to St. Maria Faustina by Christ. It was specifically meant to beg God for mercy in a time of man’s desperate indifference toward God. Christ also asked that it especially be said during the 3:00-4:00 pm hour, which He called the Hour of Mercy because it corresponded with His death on the Cross. This seemed like something easy to think about but hard to remember, especially during a busy day at work. But then I realized that my Outlook system prompts me for every other appointment that I have–why not set a recurring “meeting” at 3:00 every day to say a bit of the Chaplet of Mercy? Most days I only say one decade, which takes about 20 seconds, but it is a great break in the day and an opportunity to pray for all of the people who ask for prayers. Simply go to the Outlook calendar> Actions>New Appointment. Set the time for 3:00 and be sure to hit the “recurrence” button for “Daily.” Just imagine if this took off–the Lord could be flooded with prayers and the world flooded with Mercy.
