I stumbled upon this tweet and thought it was a funny joke. And then I realized that it wasn’t a joke. 🙁

But it’s not just some random’s tweeting. The Washington Post ran a piece titled “For some gay parents, Mother’s Day (and Father’s Day) is awkward.” Oh, poor things. And to prove it, they offer this precious bon mot of awkwardness.

One year for Father’s Day, Mike Cabotaje bought a picture frame for his daughter to give his partner. It read “Greatest Dad Ever,” which was odd he says, “because it suggests I’m second best at most.”

Many parents with young kids struggle, at least to some extent, with how to observe these holidays.

Oh my. Was the National Guard brought in shortly after? Psychologists? Counselors?

Heat Street reported that “Social-justice warriors are now saying that Mother’s Day is gender-exclusionary.”

Writing in the Toronto Star, columnist Emma Teitel says that such “gendered holidays” are “generally a drag for non-binary parents who don’t identify with a single gender.”

There’s even a proposed “Non Binary Parents Day” (July 17), Teitel notes. But she has a different idea: Getting rid of both Mother’s and Father’s Day, and, “in the spirit of both inclusivity and selfishness,” opting for a gender-neutral “Guardians Day.”

“A guardian can be a mom, a dad, a non-binary parent, a grandparent, an aunt, an uncle, a pet owner, or why the heck not—somebody who takes really good care of his houseplants,” she writes.

This Mother’s Day, several transgender people have written or posted video describing how the holiday can trigger feelings of guilt and confusion.

Let me tell you something. Being a parent is all about feeling guilt and confusion. Get over it.

The left hates holidays, I guess. Don’t they want days off? I guess you’d have to actually have a job, other than community organizing first.

But what this is really about it destruction. The left intends to re-create the world in its own image and understands it must tear down the old one. So everything must go. This will be a scrubbing from top to bottom folks. And guess what, if you don’t fit in and you resist “education” you too will be part of the clearance.
