Let’s impeach this guy before it’s too late. He can’t even run the fictional office of president-elect, imagine what he will do when he has a real office with real responsibility.
Amazingly, his first action of the mythical office of the president-elect was to appoint Rahm Emmanuel as chief of staff. Just a few weeks later, Rahm is smack dab in the middle of one of the more spectacularly brazen betrayals of the public trust conveniently caught on tape. So now the would-be chief of staff is hiding from the press.
Speaking of the press, Obama has even managed to mangle his relationship with the sycophantic, fawning, and enabling press. After parsing, dissembling, and backtracking in his first two statements on the Blagojevich scandal, even the press was miffed enough to ask some tough questions (none of which were answered.)
Gov. “Fast Eddie” Rendell has even spit in the eye of the president-elect:
Now, he said, the story will continue to dominate the media’s attention.
“They have never been in an executive position before,” Rendell said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “The rule of thumb is whatever you did, say it and get it over with and make it a one-day story as opposed to a three-day story. Politicians are always misjudging the intelligence of the American people.”
Constitutionally (I mean his nature not the U.S. constitution) unable to just speak plainly and honestly, Obama has backed himself into a corner.
This guy, whose main executive experience was running campaigns now says he almost nothing to do with Blagojecich’s campaign. His first selection as president-elect might not even make it to inauguration day, and the press is losing patience with him over his inability to speak truth. All this takes a glorious and impressive ineptitude.
So my question is simple. Is it possible to impeach a guy in an office that doesn’t really exist? Can we create a pretend constitution that allows us to impeach this guy before he even takes office? Better to do it now before he can do damage to more than himself.
