This is moral relativism at its scariest. This is the leader of the free world saying he won’t criticize China’s horrific treatment of its citizens because there are different cultural norms.
So hey, the Irish like their whiskey and the Chinese sure do love their genocide. No biggie!
Say, didn’t the Nazis just have different cultural norms?
Man, China is really getting its money’s worth, huh?
Here’s the thing. If you don’t believe that our rights comes from God in a very real and definite way you must believe that human rights are simply a social construct and you can make it all up as you go along. Part of that thinking is that good and evil are simply social constructs as well.
2021 just got so much scarier.

The only difference now Archie is that they’re saying it out loud. They were acting on these principles for a long long time. Now they’ve done beta testing on the public and are confident they’ll get support from at least a sufficient number to keep going for a while. This is Modernia, and it’s been working like this since at least the middle of the 19th century.

The equivalent of one infamous theologian’s, “who am I to judge?” and an ex-secretary of state’s, “”What difference – at this point, what difference does it make?”
jojothemonkeyboy is simply following the dictum of “don’t badmouth your primary income source.”

So it’s bad morality but good business?
