Guess why the state attorney general of Washington opened an investigation into a small Methodist University. One guess?
LGBTQLMNOP+ rights.
Seattle Pacific University, a Christian institution aligned with the Free Methodist Church, requires faculty and staff to abide by the church’s religious teachings on sexuality and marriage.
After a number of students complained, Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson notified SPU he was investigating the university for alleged sexual orientation discrimination and seeking information about its employees and religious practices.
Seattle Pacific didn’t sit back. They sued, asking for a federal district court to step in to protect its freedom to choose employees on the basis of religion, free from government interference or intimidation.”
The “ministerial exception” was approved for religious schools unanimously by the US Supreme Court but the left will stop at nothing to destroy Christian schools so they continue hammering away at these schools, colleges, and universities in an attempt to strip them of their religious freedom.
That is the goal.
This, or another case similar to it, will surely make its way to the highest courts once again in a showdown between LGBTQLMNOP rights and religious freedom.
The left is filing dozens of these cases every year because they know it will just take one of these decisions to go their way and then they will make that the precedent above all other precedents and force Christian schools to bend to their will. Sadly, many will. Some will not and they will be fined out of existence.
