Zareena Grewal, an American studies professor who focuses on race, gender, and transnationalism at Yale University, is defending Hamas’ tactics.

This is not a standalone comment. In the days following Hamas’ barbaric invasion of Israel, this professor has been defending them by blaming Israel for the deaths of its own citizens.

Specifically, she wrote, “My heart is in my throat. Prayers for Palestinians. Israeli is a murderous, genocidal settler state and Palestinians have every right to resist through armed struggle, solidarity #FreePalestine,” the academic wrote on Saturday morning as we all learned about the horrors taking place.

A petition from a Yale student to remove this dehumanizing nut job has gained 17,000 signatures as of yesterday. Let’s hope for more. Not that I think it’ll do any good.

It has become clear in recent days that the Ivy League is ground zero for anti-semitism in this country. Over thirty student groups condemned Israel over the weekend and stood with Palestine. The President of the school took four days to issue a statement. A Columbia University student group also publicly supported Palestine.

This is moral insanity.

Picking and choosing who it’s ok to kill is not ok. To look upon the killing of babies and old people and random innocents and applaud is a horror. They should not be teaching our youth. These are broken people who do not value humanity. But these institutions are the same institutions that supported eugenics in the 1920’s and 30’s. They radically support killing the unborn now. So this should not be a surprise. Dehumanization usually precedes murder so it doesn’t have to be called murder.
