This story is actually for real.
This Houthi Pirate guy is trying to break the blockade for Palestine. Many American women (and prolly some other genders) remarked online that the guy was good looking.
“God you’re beautiful,” wrote on TikTok user, while another posted: “Hey if [you’re] ever in America hmu [hit me up].” It became a thing online. Never mind that this existential struggle is going on and the only thing Americans are getting out of it is that some pirate dude is hot.
But this pirate doesn’t want to just be objectified. He wants to be taken seriously. He wants everyone not to focus on how good looking he is but really focusing on wiping Jews out of the Middle East.
“I did not talk about beauty or anything else, but our issue is Palestine, and this is not the time to talk about beauty,” he wrote in Arabic, in response to the headline, “‘Hot’ Houthi Pirate Becomes Online Sensation: ‘God You’re Beautiful.'”
“I hope that my message will reach you, a free Palestine, and we will [fight] against the Israeli aggression that violates human rights,” al-Haddad wrote.
He just wants to be taken seriously, folks.

Interesting commentary on the thoughts and feelings of those outside the struggle. It lends support to this idea that in the West, where we have effectively buffered ourselves from the direct suffering of the world (regardless of the direction one defines it by)…war is entertainment and received as such. Protests are self-edifying and give us an insulated way to ‘react’ but that has no real consequences, like what the innocent civilians (regardless of Palestinian or Jewish) are really living.
