There is mystery to the world. Nobody can deny that. There is stuff we don’t and can’t know. Materialists ask for one miracle and then say EVERYTHING else can be explained through reason simply by material re-odering itself through merry physical means. If you can just accept that NOTHING became EVERYTHING they can take over from there.

That is building your life outlook on a father shaky foundation, it seems to me. By refusing to acknowledge a Creator, they are making gods of themselves. Their reason is paramount, they say. But where has that led us?

We no longer know what a woman is? We no longer know what a human being is? Life is no longer sacred. By ignoring the mystery at the center of creation they’ve inadvertently made everything a mystery. Everything is virtually unknowable because categorizations bleed into one another. Reason alone brings us to confusion. We can’t even trust our own senses.

So we don’t even understand what it is we’re doing. the responsibility we’re taking on may be too much. We are blissfully, gleefully creating an artificial intelligence and seeking to terraform other planets. Why? Because we can.

I would argue that it’s unreasonable to assume that people are reasonable.

Rather than doing the difficult work of changing ourselves, we are opting to create a virtual intelligent being. We find that less difficult. That’s the perfect distillation of our age, isn’t it. We have amazing tech. We see scientific breakthroughs on the daily.

But it’s like we’re driving a race car without a steering wheel. We are driving blindly because we have no morals. There are no signposts. This will not end well.
