Pope Francis said yesterday that he believes that celibacy is a gift but that the rule was not dogma and could therefore someday be changed.
Whoa. Bam! Pow! You’d have thought the pope drop kicked Saint Peter by the way the media is reacting.
“Celibacy is not a dogma,” he said. “It is a rule of life that I appreciate very much and I think it is a gift for the Church but since it is not a dogma, the door is always open.”
This is not news. The funniest part is that many of the stories even state that Pope Francis has said this before. This is only news to the media because they believe Pope Francis is the most enlightened Neanderthal of a backwards Church into…if not the 21st century…maybe the 20th.
