…said “Oh nooo.” I didn’t say a prayer for his soul. I didn’t take a moment to reflect on a good Catholic man’s life. No. I thought “Oh no. President Obama is going to get to nominate a replacement.”
That’s a shame upon me.
If you hadn’t heard, Antonin Scalia, a great thinker and a good man, has passed.
My San Antonio:
Associate Justice Antonin Scalia was found dead of apparent natural causes Saturday on a luxury resort in West Texas, federal officials said.
Scalia, 79, was a guest at the Cibolo Creek Ranch, a resort in the Big Bend region south of Marfa.
According to a report, Scalia arrived at the ranch on Friday and attended a private party with about 40 people. When he did not appear for breakfast, a person associated with the ranch went to his room and found a body.
I can explain my reaction somewhat by saying, such was Scalia’s impact. His death is not just a blow to his family and those who loved him but to the entire country.
Today, please say a prayer for the soul of Antonin Scalia and his family. And then pray for this country.
