Just some random observations and thoughts about politics.

Some people say that Rubio supporters are like Trump supporters in their intransigence and denial of basic facts. I don’t think so. Trump supporters are their own thing. But why are so many Rubio supporters unable to see the writing on the wall and support Cruz? Honestly, you can talk policy til you are blue. It isn’t about policy. There is a certain percentage of people who get it in their heads who is “electable” and who isn’t. Rubio has many outward attributes that are very attractive and they decided early on he is electable. No reason, policy, or argument can be deployed to dissuade them from their emotive conclusions. Generally, these people care little for actual principle and policy detail, they just magically “know” who can win. Ya know, like Romney.

Gov. Kasich last night exuded that smug sense of calm superiority that only the unprincipled can perfect. He is everything wrong with GOP. I learned one thing last night. I wouldn’t vote for Kasich to be the 4th selectman in a village with only 3 selectmen.

Religion, politics, and running are the 3 things about which everyone thinks they know everything there is to know without even spending 5 minutes studying them. Alas and alack, these are the 3 things that occupy most of my free time.

I will be accepting apologies in the comment box below from all those who insisted 3 weeks ago that Ben Carson was the only principled alternative to Donald Trump. That didn’t work out so well for you, did it?

My main takeaway from last night’s debate: It is shocking how ill-equipped Trump is to be President.
