Sometimes I’m a tad hyperbolic in my writing. I get carried away sometimes. But yesterday I wrote that I expected the media to pretty much ignore the breaking news from leaked emails in which high ranking Clinton campaign officials mocking Catholics and evangelicals.

To recap quickly, WikiLeaks released an email chain that included Clinton campaign chair John Podesta, Clinton campaign communications director Jen Palmieri, and Center for American Progress fellow John Halpin.

Halpin said of conservatism among Catholics:

It’s an amazing bastardization of the faith. They must be attracted to the systematic thought and severely backwards gender relations and must be totally unaware of Christian democracy.

Palmieri reportedly said that Catholicism is “the most socially acceptable politically conservative religion” and adds “Their rich friends wouldn’t understand if they became evangelicals.”

Podesta then chimes in saying,

Excellent point. They can throw around “Thomistic” thought and “subsidiarity” and sound sophisticated because no one knows what the hell they’re talking about.

So it’s actually now, just about 11 p.m. and I ran a quick news search online for mentions of “Clinton” and “Catholic” and “WikiLeaks.” Well, not one major mainstream media organization outside of Fox News has run a story about this. Not one.

The Daily Caller, Sean Hannity, The Christian Post, LifeSite, and the Catholic News Agency, among a few others ran with the story.

Could you imagine if a Trump campaign email had called Muslims “backwards” and mocked them? Whoa. The media would be convulsing with feigned horror. Can you just imagine all the lectures about “tone” and how he’s inciting violence or something.

The media’s more than in the tank in this election. They are now openly serving their political masters. This country is doomed.
