When I was discussing public intellectuals who became Christian I left out Andrew Klavan. I suspect it’s because he’s been generally on the right for a very long time but only recently became Christian. I guess he felt that he wasn’t being ostracized enough by polite society so he had to up his game.
I find him extraordinarily insightful and kind. I don’t always agree but he’s coming from a good place and he’s truly searching for truth.
I think here, he nails it. In talking about pride he says, “Pride is the inability to process shame.” There’s a great deal of truth in that.
