To be fair, shouldn’t everyone report child abuse? Well, Hollywood doesn’t think so. We’ve got all sorts of celebrities tweeting out their horror and outrage that the governor of Texas is preventing adults from putting children on hormone blockers that will impact their maturity or even putting them under the knife as a way to show how virtuous they are.
And say, shouldn’t we be a little skeptical about an industry built on sex crimes lecturing us on child abuse? Just saying they might have…um…an interest in…y’know…such things that might be legally classified as child abuse by the sane world.
NBC News: Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is calling on “licensed professionals” and “members of the general public” to report the parents of transgender minors to state authorities if it appears the minors are receiving gender-affirming medical care.
The directive was part of a letter Abbott, a Republican, sent Tuesday to the Department of Family and Protective Services, calling on it to “conduct a prompt and thorough investigation” of any reported instances of minors undergoing “elective procedures for gender transitioning.”
Abbott’s letter follows an opinion released Monday by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, which stated that allowing minors to receive transition care such as puberty blockers, hormone therapy and surgery is child abuse under state law.
This is common sense. This is about protecting children from adults. The media and Hollywood can demonize it all they want but it protects children.
