That’s all it takes? Some boos and jeers and you’re willing to bend the knee to the woke mob?
Republican Sen. Cynthia Lummis (Wyo.) has caved to the outrage mob, issuing an apology after affirming the existence of “two sexes” as absolute scientific truth, according to The Blaze.
“While speaking to graduates at the University of Wyoming commencement on Saturday, Lummis observed that truth itself is under attack in our postmodern world, including the “fundamental scientific truth” about biological sex.
“[This includes] our rights to freedom of speech, religion, property, assembly, and to keep and bear arms,” Lummis said, adding, “Even fundamental scientific truths, such as the existence of two sexes — male and female — are subject to challenge these days.””
Predictably, students booed and hissed and jeered showing that their indoctrination dollars at the University were well spent.
Sadly, the University then issued a statement on Lummis’ speech, saying, that Lummis’ comment is “not the scientific truth.”
Except that it is but never mind that right now. They went on to say that “Regardless of biological sex, gender has a wide variety of expression. Research and lived experience continue to reveal more about the connection and interaction of gender presentation and identity.”
Because #science always has terms like “lived experience” and “gender presentation.” That’s sooooo science.
But here’s the important thing here. Lummis apologized. She bent the knee to the woke mob.
She apologized for making people feel “un-welcomed” and “disrespected” when she said something that is obviously true.
“My reference to the existence of two sexes was intended to highlight the times in which we find ourselves, times in which the metric of biological sex is under debate with potential implications for the shared Wyoming value of equality,” she said in a statement.
“I share the fundamental belief that women and men are equal, but also acknowledge that there are biological differences and circumstances in which these differences need to be recognized,” she continued. “That being said, it was never my intention to make anyone feel un-welcomed or disrespected, and for that I apologize. I have appreciated hearing from members of the University of Wyoming community on this issue, and I look forward to continuing this dialogue.”
You can say she was just apologizing for time and place of her statement. Was their graduation the right time and place?
You betcha. Reality slaps hard. Might as well wake them up from their four year delirium.
These dififcult issues need to be brought up more, not less. The more places that sane and free people are not allowed to discuss truth the worse the world gets. We have allowed this madness to take hold and out of politeness we have demurred from bringing this up in polite company. No more silence. No more demurring. No more time and place.
Those are terms we too often used when one word would be better -cowardice.
“God created mankind in his image; in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”
Truth must be told. Do not apologize for it.
