Articles like the latest from Bridget Phetasy will become more common the crazier and darker we get. People will realize something doesn’t make sense. Something they’re told is supposed to be liberating and empowering will make them feel empty and disheartened.

That emptiness will not be filled with assurances from peers and therapists and professors. Then they will figure out that the world is lying to them about something very fundamental.

That is the moment of decision. They can shrug and say, “well, ok, but I’m sure everything else is right” or they can question everything.

Bridget Phetasy, a very liberal secular writer for years for publications such as Playboy, is having such a moment. She is questioning everything.

Her conclusions aren’t all there yet but she knows she’s been sold a bill of goods about sexuality that isn’t true. Her piece “I regret being a slut” is a first step out from Plato’s cave.

If I’d written this piece coming out of college it would’ve been titled “I regret trying to be a slut” as I was very unsuccessful. This may come as a shock to you but drunk, short, chubby bearded guys aren’t lady killers. But the point is the same. We are all being lied to about sexuality, about gender, about the very nature of humanity itself.

The first step towards real truth is a step towards Christ. They may not know it at the time but if you are seeking truth you are seeking Christ.
