It’s like Rosemary’s Baby Meets Harry Met Sally. But with a teenager.
And this got approved? Disney+ recently laid a whole lot of people off. Something tells me this isn’t going to help.
It’s almost like the people running Disney hate Disney. Or maybe they just hate you so much. Either way, these projects seems very confused, poorly thought out, damaging to children, and harmful to families. But let’s be honest, that’s probably the point.
DiningDisney reports:
Disney+ has given the green light to a new German show, Pauline, about a pregnant teen who falls in love with the devil. As in Lucifer. Satan himself. I…couldn’t make this up if I wanted to. No, this is not an April Fool’s prank. According to Deadline, it’s legit.
Deadline reports, “Pauline follows the eponymous protagonist, an 18-year-old who accidentally becomes pregnant – from a one-night stand. With school stress, the climate crisis and the downfall of society weighing heavily on her mind, something she doesn’t need at all right now is catching feelings, especially not for her one-night stand Lukas, who, as it turns out, is the devil himself.” There’s a lot to unpack there.
It feels a bit like Netflix’s The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, except with more teen pregnancy and less battling of good vs. evil. In fact, I take that back. Comparing it to the Sabrina reboot feels like an insult to Netflix’s show which, despite the amount of Satan in it, is a pretty good show. This just feels like some writer somewhere was pranking a team of studio execs, and it got approved anyway.
