The White House’s Christian Christmas Card seems to be offensive to The View’s Barbara Walters. Can you believe the President sent out a Christian card concerning celebrating a Christian holiday? Gasp!

Walters fretted about the Christmas card she recently received from the White House and said it was he most religious White House Christmas card in her memory. The card included explicit religious references beyond just a bible verse.

The card features a verse from Nehemiah (Old Testament):

You alone are the LORD.
You made the heavens, even the highest heavens,
and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it,
the seas and all that is in them.
You give life to everything,
and the multitudes of heaven worship you.
NEHEMIAH 9:6 (NIV)

Whereas in previous years the President and the First Lady opted for messages of happiness, goodwill, and peace, this year featured the following closer:

May the joy of all creation fill your heart this blessed season 2007.

Walters, who showed the card along with other more secular seasons greetings she received from public figures, worried, “Does this also go to agnostics, and atheists, and Muslims?”

I know. If an atheist or an agnostic received a card like this their heads would just explode, right? It would be so offensive to them that they would either die right on the spot or just break down in tears.

Walters asked, “Don’t you think it’s a little interesting that the president of all people is sending out a religious Christmas card?”

No Barbara. It’s refreshing.
